FRIENDS OF THE HOUR
GOLF CLASSIC

The Golf Classic was held April 3, 2008 and everyone had a great time.  We raised both money and awareness for the ministries of the United Methodist Hour.  A highlight spotlight was featured on our April 13, 2008 program.  Watch it on our home page in the viewer.

Check our site for more information as we get closer to next year's event!

THE TABLE

The United Methodist Hour is currently in the planning stages of a unique modern worship experience to be held in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.  It will contain great music and worship and use extensive multimedia in the message.

Below are some of the thoughts guiding our new endeavor.

The Table's Covenant Life

Prayer Filled Life
A psalm of the descendants of Korah. As the deer pants for streams of water, so I long for you, O God.   I thirst for God, the living God. When can I come and stand before him? (Psalm 42: 1-2)

Story Tellers
Jesus told her, "I am the resurrection and the life.   Those who believe in me, even though they die like everyone else, will live again. They are given eternal life for believing in me and will never perish. Do you believe this, Martha?" "Yes, Lord," she told him. "I have always believed you are the Messiah, the Son of God, the one who has come into the world from God." (John 11: 25-27)

Virtuous
Do not waste time arguing over godless ideas and old wives' tales. Spend your time and energy in training yourself for spiritual fitness.   Physical exercise has some value, but spiritual exercise is much more important, for it promises a reward in both this life and the next.  (1 Timothy 4: 7-8)

Spirit Led
Don't be drunk with wine, because that will ruin your life. Instead, let the Holy Spirit fill and control you. Then you will sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, making music to the Lord in your hearts. (Ephesians 5: 18-19

Sacramental
But this precious treasure – this light and power that now shine within us – is held in perishable containers, that is, in our weak bodies. So everyone can see that our glorious power is from God and is not our own.  (2 Corinthians 4: 7)

Compassionate
Instead, I want to see a mighty flood of justice, a river of righteous living that will never run dry.  (Amos 5: 24)

We're anticipating a summer start date for this event.  Check back here for further updates.
